  • Inclusion
  • Responsiveness
  • Support
  •

We support people with intellectual disabilities, working in partnership with them to aid their personal development.

Each person’s plan is unique. There is no one-size-fits-all approach.

We help you to live the life you want

We help you take advantage of opportunities. Whether that's making the most of vocational experiences or becoming part of a supportive community. We support you to:

  • Set goals and achieve them
  • Make meaningful connections with others and live the life you want
  • Have as much independence as possible while balancing it with the right support

Our Services

Accessing support

IDEA Services is funded by the government through the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Social Development. To access our services, you must undergo a comprehensive needs assessment.

These assessments are done by Needs Assessment and Service Coordination Services (NASCs) or an Enabling Good Lives (EGL) connector, depending on your region.

Contact your local NASC organisation by phoning 0800 693 342 or visit the NZ Federation of Disability Information Centres website.

If you have any questions, contact your local IDEA Services office.
