Living with support – Residential

Residential Services

We provide support for people with intellectual disabilities who require a level of care and want to live in a supportive community.

‍Support is based on what you need

If you live with us you will:

  • Have your own bedroom
  • Live in a home you share with a few others
  • Be encouraged to take part in the running of your home and make decisions with others about what happens there

An active social life

We will support you to live in a home with a small group of people. You can have friends and family around, keep socially active and do the things that you like and want to do.

In Residential Services you’re encouraged to participate in the running of your home. Regular meetings are held to make decisions about your home.

Each person is given the level of support they need, including support with personal care, preparing meals or going out.

You might be part of a sports team or go to cafes or the movies – whatever you enjoy doing.

A wide range of accommodation options

You are also supported to access community activities and services, such as leisure, recreation and medical services, including your annual health check.

IDEA Services is working towards providing people with a wider range of accommodation options. You might live with a few other people in a group home and have sleepover staff or you might have less support.

How to access our support

If you have already spoken to a Needs Assessment and Service Coordination (NASC) service or an Enabling Good Lives (EGL) Connector, please come and talk to us. If you haven’t, we’d still like to meet and talk with you.
